Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Newham
A small, welcoming primary school in Newham is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The setting includes a high number of children with additional needs, particularly autism, and the school is seeking someone confident and nurturing to join their team.
In this role, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, including autism
- Support children’s development in communication, play, and early learning skills
- Assist the class teacher with general classroom support and inclusive learning
- Contribute to a calm, consistent, and supportive learning environment
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with SEN children in EYFS or a nursery/primary setting
- Strong understanding of autism and early developmental needs
- Confident, patient and proactive approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and families
