SEN Teaching Assistant | Autism | East London
We are looking for a teaching assistant to work with autistic children at a primary school in Newham. This role is to start in September or possibly sooner.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working in an average sized primary school with a large and well-resourced SEN provision.
The school caters for a wide range of Special Educational Needs, they have several children on the autistic spectrum and now need an additional teaching assistant in this area to work with children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with a September start.
Applicants for this SEN Teaching Assistant role should be exceptional communicators and strong team-players, able to fit in well with the supportive staff-team at the school. We are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic teaching assistant who can bring to the post lots of ideas and a passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs. Previous experience working with autism is essential for this role, ideally within a primary school environment with children aged 4-7.
Previous training in alternative communication techniques such as PECS or Makaton would be advantageous to the role but not essential. The school offers on-going training so an excellent placement for an experienced Teaching Assistant to develop their skills further.
