Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision (SEMH) – North West London – Immediate Start

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in an Alternative Provision/PRU  in East London for a long-term role starting as soon as possible.

The centre provides an alternative to mainstream education for pupils aged 11–16 who have been excluded from school. Students are referred by local authorities and present with a range of needs including SEMH, ADHD, Asperger’s and OCD.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils in small group settings
  • Building positive relationships with students with challenging behaviour
  • Promoting engagement and supporting emotional regulation
  • Working within a therapeutic, holistic framework

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEMH pupils (PRU, alternative provision or specialist settings preferred)
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Calm, resilient and consistent approach
