Food Technology Technician Job – Secondary School
Location: Lambeth, South London
Position: Food Technology Technician
Hours: 3 days per week
Start Date: ASAP
Key Skills Education are currently recruiting for a Food Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in food technology, catering or practical food preparation who is looking to work within an educational environment.
The Food Technician Job Role:
- Supporting the Food Technology department with the preparation and organisation of practical lessons
- Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for food technology classes
- Ensuring kitchens, work areas and equipment are clean, safe and ready for use
- Supporting students during practical food lessons where required
- Maintaining appropriate levels of ingredients and equipment
- Assisting teachers with demonstrations and practical activities
- Following school health & safety, food hygiene and safeguarding procedures
- Helping to create an organised and engaging practical learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in food preparation, catering, food technology or a similar practical environment
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable working around secondary-age students
- Patient and approachable with good communication skills
- Ideally has previous experience working in a school or educational setting, although this is not essential
