About the Role
We are working with a large, inclusive primary school in Edgware with a well-established SEN provision. The school is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with mild learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural needs.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is confident supporting children who require additional structure, consistency, and emotional regulation support, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to pupils with mild learning difficulties and emotional/behavioural needs
- Support learning in the classroom and during small-group or 1:1 interventions
- Assist pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement individual support plans
- Help create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Support pupils during transitions, break times, and other parts of the school day as required
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly mild learning difficulties and/or emotional behavioural needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
