1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1 – Primary School – Muswell Hill

A well-regarded primary school in Muswell Hill is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil with an EHCP. The child presents with severe behaviour difficulties and needs consistent, structured support throughout the school day.

The school has a strong SEN provision and experienced leadership, making this a great opportunity for someone confident in supporting behaviour in a primary setting.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with challenging behaviour

  • Implement behaviour strategies, reinforce boundaries and support regulation

  • Assist with classroom engagement and learning where possible

  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher and pastoral team to monitor progress

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs in a school setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, firm and fair approach

  • Resilient, proactive and able to follow consistent routines

  • Able to build a trusting and positive relationship with a child in need of structure
