A well-established nursery in Leyton near Walthamstow is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead its Early Years team from September 2026.

This is an excellent job opportunity for a passionate and organised Nursery Manager looking to take ownership of a thriving setting and help shape its next stage of development. The role would suit an experienced Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager ready for promotion, or an ambitious Early Years leader with strong operational and leadership experience.

Nursery Manager Role

As Nursery Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery.

You will work closely with staff, families and senior leaders to ensure the nursery delivers outstanding care, education and safeguarding practice.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the nursery team
• Supporting recruitment, induction and staff development
• Ensuring compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements
• Maintaining high standards of care and education
• Managing occupancy, admissions and parent relationships
• Monitoring quality assurance and continuous improvement
• Supporting staff performance through coaching and supervision
• Working closely with external agencies and professionals
• Overseeing health and safety within the nursery
• Driving a positive, inclusive and child-centred culture

Nursery Manager Job Requirements

To be considered for this Nursery Manager Job in Leyton, applicants should have:

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above desirable)
• Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge and experience
• Experience leading and developing Early Years teams
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Experience working with parents, carers and external professionals
• A genuine passion for children’s learning and development
