HLTA – ASD & Speech and Language Unit (Primary School)
Start: Summer 2 (Next Half Term)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school is looking to appoint a confident and experienced HLTA to support the launch of a new specialist provision unit in Summer 2.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing provision focused on supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and Speech & Language needs.

The Role:

  • Lead and deliver small group interventions for pupils with ASD and S&L needs
  • Plan and run structured sessions to support communication, behaviour and learning
  • Work closely with the SENCo and teaching staff to support individual learning plans
  • Provide guidance and direction to Teaching Assistants within the unit
  • Support the development of the new provision and contribute to best practice

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have HLTA experience or equivalent in a primary school setting
  • Have strong experience supporting children with ASD and Speech & Language needs
  • Be confident leading sessions and working independently with small groups
  • Be able to manage and support other TAs effectively
  • Have a calm, patient and adaptable approach

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (HLTA or senior TA)
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly ASD and communication needs
  • No formal teaching qualification required
