A forward-thinking 11–18 academy in East London is seeking a committed and ambitious Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to teach across KS3, KS4 and A Level Biology, within a supportive and well-established Science department.
The academy has been rated Good with Outstanding features, with particular strengths in curriculum design and quality of education. It is smaller than average, offering a strong sense of community and a collaborative working environment. The school serves a diverse intake, with a high proportion of students with EAL and SEN, and maintains good behaviour across the school.
Responsibilities
- Teach Science across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Biology at KS5
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
- Assess and monitor student progress, supporting strong outcomes
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum
- Support a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Biology or a related subject
- Minimum 2 years’ UK teaching experience
- Experience teaching Biology at A Level
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ambition to develop into, or already be, an outstanding practitioner
