SEN Teacher – ASD Base (Mainstream Secondary School)
Part-Time | 3 Days per Week | March Start | Lambeth
A mainstream secondary school is seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher to work within its Autism (ASD) base from the beginning of March. This is a rewarding opportunity for a specialist teacher who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs through targeted 1:1 and small group teaching.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structured, supportive learning for students with autism and dyslexia, while also helping to coordinate and guide teaching assistants within the unit.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group teaching for students within the ASD base
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Support students with autism and dyslexia using evidence-based strategies
- Lead and coordinate teaching assistants working within the unit
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
- Create a calm, structured learning environment that promotes engagement and independence
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
- Proven experience supporting students with autism and dyslexia
- Background in special school, SEN provision, or mainstream learning support
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and SEN teams
