Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support – Primary School – Islington– Immediate Start
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Finsbury Park area is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.
This is a rewarding role supporting a child in Year 3 on a 1:1 basis during the mornings, before providing general SEN support across Lower KS2 classes in the afternoons.
The school is looking for someone patient, proactive and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
The Role
- Supporting a child with autism in Year 3 on a 1:1 basis each morning
- Helping the pupil access learning, routines and social interaction
- Providing additional SEN support across Lower KS2 in the afternoons
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Supporting children with a range of additional learning and communication needs
- Full-time position starting immediately

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with autism or additional needs desirable
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Experience in a primary school, SEN school or nursery setting beneficial
- Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
- Reliable and committed team player
This role would suit an aspiring teacher, psychology graduate, experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education.
