Maths Teacher – PRU (SEMH) – North London– September or Immediate Start

We are urgently seeking a qualified Maths Teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in North London ,working with Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils.

The provision supports students with a range of SEMH needs, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education. Pupils are often referred by the local authority and may include those with EHCPs or who are looked after. While not typically aggressive, students can present with challenging behaviour.

Key responsibilities:

• Delivering engaging Maths lessons to small groups (typically 4–5 pupils)
• Building strong, positive relationships with students
• Supporting pupils to re-engage with learning
• Contributing to reintegration pathways back into mainstream education

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
• Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour (PRU, alternative provision or mainstream)
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
