Speech and Language Teaching Assistant | SEN support | Primary
A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Farringdon is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Lower Key Stage 2 with Speech and Language needs.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Speech & Language difficulties, Autism, or SEN, and would particularly suit a graduate interested in Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or Education.
The Role
- Supporting pupils in Lower KS2 with Speech & Language needs
- Delivering targeted interventions and in-class support
- Working both 1:1 and with small groups
- Supporting children with Autism and communication difficulties
- Assisting the class teacher and SENCO to create tailored learning support strategies
- Helping pupils develop confidence, communication, and classroom engagement
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with Speech & Language needs or SEN
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, proactive, and organised approach
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider SEN team
- Experience delivering interventions is highly desirable
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with Autism or Speech Delay
- Background in SEN, Speech & Language, Psychology, Psychotherapy, or Education
- Relevant qualifications or training related to Speech & Language or Autism are advantageous
